Frequently Asked Questions
What types of projects does Citizen Builders take on?
We specialize in high-end home remodels, custom homes, ADUs (accessory dwelling units), and commercial tenant improvement projects throughout Salt Lake City, Park City, and surrounding areas.
Do I need a permit for my renovation or remodel?
In most cases, yes. We handle the permitting process for you to keep everything smooth, compliant, and on schedule with local city or county requirements.
How long will my remodel take?
It depends on the scope. A kitchen or bathroom remodel may take 4–8 weeks, while full-home renovations or custom homes can take several months. We provide a detailed timeline and keep you updated at every stage.
What areas do you serve?
We proudly serve Salt Lake City, Millcreek, Holladay, Sandy, Draper, Highland, Alpine, Park City, Heber City, Kamas, and other surrounding Utah communities.
How do you price your projects?
Every project is custom-bid based on the design, materials, labor, and scope. We offer transparent pricing and detailed estimates — no surprises. Final pricing is locked in once plans and selections are approved.
Do you offer financing?
We don’t offer in-house financing, but we can refer you to trusted lending partners or work directly with your lender of choice.
Can I make changes after the project starts?
Yes. Any updates or changes are handled through a formal change order process, so everything stays documented and clear for both sides.
Who manages my project?
Each project is assigned a dedicated project manager from our Citizen Builders team. They coordinate schedules, oversee subcontractors, and serve as your main point of contact throughout the entire job.
Can I live in the home during construction?
Sometimes. For smaller projects, you may be able to stay in the home. For major renovations, we may recommend relocating temporarily to avoid dust, noise, and safety issues. We’ll help you make the best call.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — fully licensed, bonded, and insured. We work only with vetted subcontractors and skilled tradespeople to maintain the highest quality and professionalism on every job.
